A typical tent where up to 6 of the enlisted soldiers would sleep at a time.
They would sleep on straw if they could find any
and were extremely lucky to find any blankets.

The bricks were a special type especially built for insulation known as 'nogging'.
There is a fold out cot inside which a feather or straw stuffed mattress
could be placed upon for comfort.
